What is to become of the world? The United States has elected a new leader for our country, Israel is poised to hold elections, health questions are arising about the dictator of North Korea, Russia is still being governed by Vladimir Putin-but no one wants to say anything due to Putin’s police state tactics. Everyone is looking for answers to a unraveling situation in the global world’s history. No matter who is elected certain things must take place as mentioned in the Bible. Sure, many are looking to leaders for hope in what seems to be a dark, questionable path. The nations and citizens find it convenient to ignore the fact that the Lord is the judge of mankind. Different countries have opted to elect leaders who they believe can bring structure and peace to their country. Are their efforts all for nothing? The only sure thing in life is ones ability to determine the fate of their souls. How unfortunate it is that people do not have their priories in order, feeling as though they need to save intangible objects, things that will pass away, more so than the need to save their immortal souls. A regrettable practice today is that countless people dedicate their time and energy to causes that interfere with their personal relationship with the true God concerning their salvation.

“Save the Planet!” is the mantra of Al Gore and celebrity environmentalists. They are convinced that mankind will destroy the earth. Do any of their own beliefs agree with what the Bible says? The Bible does not state that mankind has the capability to utterly destroy his creation, the Earth. However, it does mention how the Lord has reserved a judgment of fire for the Earth as we know it. Psalm 96:13 reads, “For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the Earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with His truth.” God has already destroyed the earth with water during the flood and according to 2nd Peter, the Lord will destroy the earth again but with fire. “… He used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed. (2nd Peter 3:6-7)” Why will the Lord annihilate the earth in the future? Genesis clearly explains why the Lord destroyed earth in the past, “Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah,” I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Genesis 6:11-13).” It was because of man’s wickedness and corruption that the Lord destroyed the earth.

Only Noah and his family were found righteous enough to escape the Lord’s coming judgments against the world. Instead of an ark, many Christians will be sparred the judgments of the world because of the rapture. What are the judgments coming to the world? The book of Revelation reveals seven opening judgments on the earth at the beginning of the tribulation:

1) A false leader comes to bring “peace” on Earth, but ushers in chaos.

2) Peace is taken away from the Earth.

3) Famine is spread across the earth.

4) A fourth of mankind is killed by the sword, hunger, and beasts.

5) The souls of the martyrs cry for the avengement of those who dwell on the earth.

6) Severe calamities of nature and heavenly astronomical events cause great fear on the earth.

7) Silence-before the remaining judgments are poured out onto the earth.

These are just a fragment of the future judgments that will be facing mankind and earth. (Revelation 6:1-8:6)

The event of the rapture is an occasion that many Christians are looking forward to. For just as Noah did, Christians will escape the coming judgments described during the period of the Great tribulation. It is a blessing that the period that mankind currently lives in is the church age-an age that began when Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Humanity will shift in a different direction that will ultimately cause a deep longing for the present days that we are living in. It doesn’t matter who may or may not be elected, the end of an era is quickly approaching. “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. (Ephesians 2:8-9).” Make sure you don’t lose focus and live your life for objects that are perishable, but base your future decisions on believing in the Son of God-a choice that will ultimately determine your salvation. Are you prepared to meet your maker?

Nevada York, Author of Caught Up and Mahogany’s Revelation, released her latest book Journey to Salvation in 2006 to rave reviews from readers. Nevada’s published novels are an accomplishment that has been well worth the wait. Not willing to be deterred, her determination has bought about the publication of two memorable novels. http://nevadayork.com

Fidel Castro has been a thorn in the side of the United States for nearly 5-decades, one of our nearest neighbors, a communist country. Many citizens of Cuba, have fled to freedom to find sanctuary in the United States, and who could blame them? Fidel Castro took over the Cuban government in a revolution and he promised to give the country back to the people, but when the dust had settled, Fidel Castro, gave the country to himself.

This should come as no surprise and certainly this is not the first time in history it has happened. Unfortunately, his rule lasted 50-years, people had been born, lived their natural lives under Fidel Castro, and never knew true freedom, even though it was only 80 miles away. Some took that fateful journey and fled to the US. Most of those Cuban-Americans would certainly like to see Cuba turned into a Democracy.

We need a free Cuba, and those in Cuba deserve to control their own destinies and enjoy liberty and freedom, just like any country. The US should move now to give Cuba back to the people, then open up free-trade, tourism and create win-win partnerships. All this could take place in a very short amount of time with the right will power and leadership with the strength of character to make it so.

Imagine what we could do for Cuba right now. So close, so simple and such a wonderful gift, that we could bring to give that nation back to those who long to be free, desire liberty and deserve a better quality of life; folks the time is now, its time to put Fidel Castro into the history books and continue our mission for the betterment of humankind. Think on this for a moment please, we owe it to our neighbors who have waited oh so long.

By: surfsieve

Someone had perhaps rightly said that the serious threat to India comes from within the country itself rather than from outside. Although the above observation was made in a different context, the hulla baloo created recently by the left and, of all major political parties, the BJP, over the US-India nuclear deal at it’s final stage, goes on to prove that the above “proverbial” statement is very, very true.

It is interesting to know that the much-publicized Indo-American nuclear deal has not been struck over night. It has a three-year-old history. The deal has already been discussed, seriously been examined by the experts and ultimately approved by the cabinet too. The left as well as the right[BJP] both had maintained golden silence over the issue all these years. Now, when the time came to put the final seal on the deal to make it “operational”, the left all of a sudden rose up from the deep slumber, as it were, and threatened to pull out of the Manmohan led coalition government at the center, if the government did not scrap the deal. Not to be cowed down, the prime minister hit back declaring that the deal was as good as final and there is no question of re-negotiating it. Mr. Singh was so disturbed that went on to challenge the left saying that they may quit the government if they show desire.

Sensing an opportunity to topple the government, the BJP soon jumped into the fray and egged the left on to withdraw the support to the government over the nuclear deal. BJP went on provoking the left saying, “it was time for the communists to ‘bite’ and not to bark” alone. Unexpectedly the left did not take the bait from the BJP. Senior CPM leader Jyoti Basu soon gave a hint that the government will not be toppled, as he ruled any mid-term poll. This perhaps settled the issue for the BJP since that point it had stopped being very critical of the deal. BJP is known for it’s pronounced pro-American tilt. Deviating suddenly from it’s age-old policy only to teach the congress party a lesson has not done any good to it’s “nationalist” image. An overwhelming number among the followers of the party is believed to be in favour of the deed. So is the case with the followers of the left too.

The deal, as has been certified by the experts, dose not compromise on the nation’s sovereign power. There may be some merit in the left’s concern that some of the clauses in the deal are ambiguous which may not be in India’s favour. But the point is that what these people opposed to the deal, were doing all these years? The deal was presented threadbare before the critics both in India and America for their scrutiny. If there were any objections those should have been put up immediately. Instead of doing that, the left waited, perhaps for instructions from China – it’s friend, philosopher and guide. It is perhaps China and it’s nuclear ally Pakistan who feel most uncomfortable as India strikes a deal with Washington in the nuclear area. China already wants to dominate Asia and is eager to perform the big-brother role in the sub-continent. It is never pleased with India’s emergence as a “super-power”. To counter India’s growth it started assisting Pakistan in the acquisition of nuclear weapons ever since India tested its first bomb in 1974 at Pokhran. China and Pakistan have signed a nuclear co-operation treaty. China had clandestinely smuggled nuclear devices to Pakistan even after joining the non-proliferation treaty. It has already armed Pakistan to the hilt with nuclear warhead carryng missiles. Arming India’s greatest enemies with arms and ammunition that can play havoc with lives and property clearly shows the intention of India’s northern neighbors. But that perhaps does not bother India’s left leaning brethren.

The Indo-American nuclear deal, if it goes into effect, promises to do a world of good to the nation’s interests. As soon as the deal is final, the three-decade-old technology sanctions would be lifted. These sanctions were imposed on India in 1974 when its first atom bomb was tested. When the sanctions are lifted the trade in nuclear technology and materials will be boosted. Besides, the deal will allow India to achieve its target of 20,000 MW of power by 2020 AD. To achieve a greater growth rate, the country badly needs power at a cheaper rate and the nuclear energy is the cheaper alternative to oil and gas. The country has to part with a huge sum in importing expensive gas and oil. Clearing the deal will also make India a “friend” to the nuclear suppliers group and consequently boost India’s industry and trade. This will also help India fulfill its dream of becoming an economic super power. On the other hand, if the deal falls though China will be immensely pleased, but India will not only be deprived of all the benefits listed above, but it’s international goodwill and credibility will be severely damaged and no country will believe in our commitments in the future.

Meanwhile Mr. Manmohan Singh may also be aware of the fact that in the end all the threats spelt out by the left might prove to be empty ones because in the case the present government falls, it will be the BJP which stands to gain most in the by-election and the left will certainly not venture to do anything which will have even the remotest chance to benefit the BJP in any way! So the Manmohan Singh can stay in peace and go ahead with his program to put the final seal on the deal.
