By: Allan Wilson

Article directories are sites that consist solely of free articles. These articles are usually submitted to the article directory by whoever owns the copyright to them as a promotional method. Each article has the authors resource box placed directly below the content so that whoever reads the article will know who wrote it (or at least who owns it) and will be able to get in contact with or visit their website for further information.

The links placed within the resource box of the articles is one of the best ways to get your site or sites found by the search engines. Some of the bigger article directories get spidered by the search engines regularly and when your article is found on one of those sites the spiders will of course follow the link from your articles resource box and find your website.

This helps you to get your website initially indexed in the search engines and of course the more sites linking to yours also helps to increase the importance of your site in the eyes of the search engine and hopefully see you rank higher for the subject.

Article directories are also a great place to submit your articles so that they will make you money. By using this method, people who are interested in your product or service will see your article, view you as an expert on the subject, and will visit your website.

Even if you cannot write or do not have any knowledge on the subject on which you are promoting (for example if you run an affiliate website), you can always hire a ghostwriter to do the work for you. Getting quality articles written will be expensive up front, but they will pay for themselves in no time, either through affiliate sales or selling your own services, and everything from then on is pure profit.

Let’s take a real life example. Imagine that you are an accountant working from home. You write an article about an accounting topic and submit it to various article directories. Those who are looking for the subject you wrote about will read your article, see that you have the knowledge and skill that is needed to do a job for them, and visit your website or contact you via e-mail. Your article just gained you a new client who may use your services regularly, but will definitely give you a nice profit at least once.

Furthermore, since you have posted it on a free article directory, others who have affiliate websites about accounting will inevitably use your article for their website. Since they must attach your resource box to it, this will bring you even more exposure for every website that re-posts your article. This is because you will be benefiting from the traffic that they get to their website.

There are now thousands of article directories available for you to utilize. You are better off to submit a copy of each of your articles to every one of them for maximum exposure. At the very least submit your articles to the biggest directories.

It will eventually help to bring more traffic and customers to your website, which will lead to new orders and more profit. Hopefully it will also improve your search engine placement for your website as well.

Author Resource:-> Visit the authors site at: affiliate videos to watch video reviews of various products. Or if interested in artile submission services take a look at the article marketer review video

Believe or not, it is estimated that only very few people actually make huge profits online. The majority are making losses, just breaking even or making very small profits.

The failure by the majority of internet marketers is due to several factors. Following are the common mistakes that keep many internet marketers away from reaching their online business goals.

1. Inadequately Designed Websites

Your website is a crucial part in your online business. Many people do not really pay attention to it and show up a poorly designed website, which caused their online business failed.

In order to attract visitors, your website must be easy to navigate, quickly load, has a professional look with well lay out. Normally, the simple but effective websites are the best. Make sure that your visitors will enjoy browsing your website and will stay longer on the site and buy stuff from you.

2. Free Domain Hosting

Online customers tend to get the perception that you are not committed for the long term with your business if you are using a free domain hosting for your online business. Having your own, appropriately named domain can present to customer the image of an established and genuine business.

To get a proper domain hosting is not expensive, so there is no reason why you should not get one.

3. Lacking of High Quality, Helpful and Unique Web Content

Online surfers are looking for useful information. Although the primary goal of your online business’ website is to sell your product or service, it is important for you to offer some valuable and useful information; and relevant tips or tools that related to your online business.

By doing this, you establish yourself as an expert in your field, at the same time, you also create credibility with your visitors, they will appreciate the things you do, the care you have for them and the expertise you offer for them.

4. No Privacy Policy Statement

Confidence and sense of security is very important for online transactions. It is very essential for you to have a ‘privacy policy’ on your online business website. Your website visitors or your customers need to know that if there are any problems with their purchase, they can get those issues addressed. A clearly written return or guarantee policies are very important.

The email system is highly abused these days, so your customers need to feel confident that you will not abuse their information that they put on your website.

5. Credit Card Processing

In order to make sales with your online business, you must make it easy and safe for your customers to complete the transactions. Credit card payment is a ‘must-have’ component on your website.

However, due to some illegal activities online, it is important for you to ensure that the credit card information your online business customers put on your site is safe. Because identity theft is very rife, so it is critical that you put all the necessary measures to make online transactions safe.

6. Lacking of an Auto-Responder Email System on Your Website

The best organic leads are the ones that visit your website and sign up your newsletter or join in your emailing list. If you are not capturing these visitors’ email address and keep in contact with them, then you are simply losing a huge business potential. By doing this, you can offer an ezine on your website and make it very beneficial for your visitors to subscribe.

Above these six mistakes has been keeping a lot of budding internet marketers away from their “dreams of millions”. Therefore, to make your online business success, you should avoid these mistakes, do certain website adjustment, and improve its performance.

I received an email this week from a gentleman who wanted a rationalization for joining in affiliate marketing.

Why, because of the many benefits in this business!

Here are some of the reasons.

1. You don’t have to invest a lot of money in office equipment, you just need to get a desk, a computer with an internet-connection and you are in business.

2. Your product is already there so you don’t need to spend money on product development. You only need to sign up as an affiliate in the merchant’s program and choose the product matching your niche market. Upside no product development costs.

3. You don’t need to worry about payment processing, which can result in fraud, chargeback, collecting or storing names, addresses, and credit card numbers and so forth because the merchant handles these for you. Upside no merchant account require.

4. There’s no need to carry product inventory because the product is with the merchants. They are keeping the stock for you. Upside no inventory cost.

5. You don’t have to carry the risk, if the product you are advertising is not profitable, and then you can discontinue that line and choose another. There are no long-term contracts requiring you have to carry unprofitable products. Upside minimizes the risk.

6. You don’t have to go to the post office, call up an express delivery service and pay for delivery. You don’t need to worry about goods being damaged or problematic deliveries. These are merchant’s duties; they will do it for you. The merchant handles the shipping process. Upside no shipping cost, along with outsourced customer service support.

7. You don’t have to worry about no sales while you are away or while you take a rest because affiliate business allows you to keep your door open and continue to make money whether or not you are there. It is round-the-clock and non-stop. Upside you make money while you sleep.

8. You don’t have to look at your boss’s face and take his or her orders. With your own affiliate business, you can easily earn extra income and your income is limited only by your desire, effort and imagination. Prospective customers click on your ads, and then the link will redirect him/her to the merchant’s website for that particular product he/she wants to process and make a purchase. The affiliate’s profit is proportional to the number of referrals and products purchased through his/her link. It is the easy way to make money. Upside have high income potential.

9. No prior sales experience required. Most affiliate programs offer excellent support when it comes to providing marketing material. Upside, instant startup and profitability.

Maybe this question should be what your budget can do for your web site? It is entirely up to you. To make money online is not necessary to have a website. Everyone can build a Blog, or use free web site templates.

But I have to question anyway: why to initially develop a web site? In the majority of the times to promote physical products or they are even information. My target here is to dialogue with who would certainly like to make your own web page and to establish your own online business or to put your existing business online.

Sooner or later everyone realizes that they must have their own domain name, mainly to personalize their products. Free web site templates are great when you have a short budget. However, it is limited to show your personal entrepreneur and to sell with complete assurance. It is important to you start a legitimate work at home based business opportunity.

If you are confused about how to make your own web site you can look for free HTML web page creator.

Another way is to contact a web designer and to previously get its services. Web design doesn’t have to be expensive; you can have a web site for just a few dollars or just a few hundred dollars depending on the method you choose. There are packages that include cheap web site hosting and a domain name all in one with free web design tools. You’ll perceive it’s simple to get your business started on the Internet.

As I have talked above, you will get to host that domain. It makes all the difference in the business world. Most hosts simply provide you with space and that’s that. You will be on your own when it comes to making your new site profitable.

It is important pay attention if where you are hosting your web page they provide excellent outstanding customer service. You must have exceptionally quick and helpful support. So make an Internet research and be sure to find the one you like.

You must know ordinary people are making extraordinary money working from home on the Internet. Your purpose with your new web site is to making money, right? Right.

How does it work? Whenever someone visits your home page and clicks on a link to learn more about one of the products, they will be redirected to a sale page for that product. When someone buys one of the products after clicking a link on your home page, you will receive a commission for the sale.

Well, I think you have got the meaning of this heading article. The more you get know about your web site, more chances you will have for making money online. When you know to make a good choice, that is, when you get pretty host and look web site, you will be ready to start make money online.

I hope there has been something useful to you here.

Author Resource:-> Wolney H Filho will give you more information on how to
Host your own web site .

The Common Misconception

On September 1, 2005, I was contacted by Ivan Schneider of Award Kitchen Refacers. Award had confirmed participation as an exhibitor at the National Home Show in Toronto at the end of the month and wanted to have a website, logo and set of business cards that could be presented to the public to support their offline marketing efforts at that time.

Ivan and I sat down the next week and went through the various materials and sketches that Award had come up with for use on the website. Some of the sketches contained layouts and rough copy for the body of the website.

There was a fairly large volume of material to encompass, and I wasn’t sure if I could cover all aspects of it along with other client work. I asked Ivan, “I’m not sure if I can complete the site, cards, and logo by the end of the month.”

“That’s okay.”

“What do you mean? You want to go to the home show with a completed site.”

“No I don’t. I’d be happy with the opening page, and a couple of the writeup pages. You can worry about some of the other details after. And over the next few months, we’re going to keep improving on it anyway.”

It was then that I realized something that had been engrained in my mind over my six years as a web designer/developer was totally incorrect.

The misconception: “A website should only be revealed to the public when it is complete.”

The truth: “A good website is never truly ‘complete’, and is a constantly evolving entity unto itself.”

One of the unique aspects of the Internet is that designers and developers are constantly pushing its boundaries from both the design and development standpoints, discovering new and more efficient ways to accomplish tasks, developing new coding standards, improving their graphic abilities, and taking advantage of newer technologies and programs as they become readily available to the populace.

This, in conjunction with the continued growth of the businesses that said websites represent, creates a state whereby effective commercial websites are in a continual, Darwin-like state of evolution. Content is added; functionality is improved; new features are implemented; graphics and site layouts are tweaked and, when necessary, completely redone.

All of these things considered, the question becomes: When is the best time to launch a new or redeveloped website?

When is the Best Time to Launch a New or Redeveloped Website?

Does your site meet or exceed the standards set by the competition? Every commercial website, regardless of the industry it pertains to, will have competition in some form or fashion. Analyze your competitors’ websites and see whether or your not your site compares favourably to theirs.

Does your website possess a unique property that will enhance your business in comparison to those of the competition? Every business needs a way to distinguish itself in order to “bring it to the front of the pack”, and the same holds true with websites. The unique property could be anything, from a custom quote request form to a never-before-seen layout to a high level of search engine optimization. It could even be as simple as effective body copy.

Whatever your unique website property is, it is of the utmost importance to get it to market as quickly as possible in order to derive the maximum possible benefit from it before a competitor discovers it.

Be prepared to expand on this unique property if necessary. One of the unfortunate aspects of Internet marketing is that, as soon as something new is discovered and proven to be successful, others will copy and/or improve said property. If possible, you may wish to consider holding back some aspects of your unique property for future development and launch as an insurance policy.

Do you have a deadline that cannot be altered or “pushed back”? In the case of Award Kitchen Refacers, the home show was at the end of the month and was not going to be changed for any reason.

In situations like these, consider launching a smaller version of the site that can still be considered “complete” (no dead links, etc.), and then add to it later.

Does it meet a satisfactory level of completion to the majority of the target market you wish to reach? Ensure that there are no links on pages that lead to missing pages or pages “under construction”; images aren’t broken or missing; textual copy is clear, concise, and as free of typographical and spelling errors as possible; and that there are no potential coding issues that interfere with customers’ ability to find the site via search engines, use the site, and gather the information and resources that they require.

At this point, a site doesn’t have to be “complete” per se. It just has to be “presentable”. A good developer will be able to make the changes required to improve the site with minimal impact on the usability of the existing site.

Is the site structured in such a way as to allow for quick and easy changes to the style and layout of the site? Are fonts and layout styles kept separate from the content? Does the navigation bar allow room for additional options if necessary?

If you are a not a designer/developer, here are a few quick things you can look for to help you determine how easy your site is to update and add to:

Consistent navigation, headers and footers among the various pages. If you notice strange behaviour in these two areas (changing of the position of the header and footer relative to the body, the navigation appears different on different pages, the header looks different across pages of the site) that you did not specifically outline, chances are that your site is not structured for growth.

Consistent use of font and layout styles and spacing. Your site, if structured correctly, should have the same font size and style for body copy across all of its pages, in order to ensure the consistency mentioned earlier. Header text and other textual elements should appear the same throughout the site as well.

Does your site make use of interactive elements (e.g. forms), and/or do pages on the site end with extensions other than .htm/.html? HTML is the output code which browsers read and generate the pages of a website from. However, HTML is a display language only; it cannot implement features such as form processing, search, message boards, and the many other rich interactive features that make up the Web.

These elements require a level of programming that HTML simply cannot provide, and a developer that has the ability to integrate these elements into an existing website also has the ability to develop and grow a website in an infinite number of directions.

Does your site draw information from a database? If the answer is yes, then your site also requires the level of programming mentioned in the previous point.

Can you receive positive, yet constructive feedback from people when you show your website to them? If you show your friends, family, and colleagues your website and they give you positive feedback on various aspects of it, then it’s a pretty safe bet that your site is ready for launch.

Be careful and use your best judgement when you receive feedback. Don’t accept comments along the lines of “yeah, it’s great” as positive feedback; look for comments such as “I like your use of colour, and the copy is easy to read.” In other words, try to elicit comments on the various aspects of your website.

For more information on how you can gather such comments, please visit a previous article I have written entitled Eliciting Constructive Website Feedback.

Does the website pass the “24-hour/48-hour” test? Depending on how much time you have, take a look at the site and then make a conscious effort to avoid dealing with or looking at the site for a period of at least 24 hours. Once you feel you have a set of “fresh eyes” to examine the site again with, then proceed to look at your site again.

Sometimes when working on websites, or when we work with others on websites, we get involved to the point where we often miss certain areas in which a site can be improved quickly because we’re too engrossed in the development of the site. By stepping away from your website, and then looking at it again, other ideas and ways to improve the site may come to mind that previously did not.

By ensuring that your website passes as many of the checks above as possible, then you will in turn ensure that your website will meet or exceed its defined goals.

1) Pay-Per-Click

It is good to get traffic but it is even better to get sales. Pay-per-click advertising is a great way to pull targeted traffic. Could anything be better? In many cases, pay-per-SALE advertising is a better choice. With pay-per-clicks, you may or may not make sales.

With a pay-per-click program, there’s very little or even NO risk. You only pay when you make sales. Affiliate programs and joint ventures are examples. Set up deals where you pay only for each sale.

2) Write articles

Writing Articles is an excellent way to promote your website. and best of all you can get recognize as a business expert.

This is very easy to do, for people that don’t know how to write real good yet look at other articles to get good ideals (Don’t steal them). After you write a article insert a link to your site and there you go.

If you don’t know what to write. Just write what you know best. You must have some knowledge or experience in one domain. Don’t you ?

You can submit your article to ezine or article directory like : http://www.articlecity.com

3) Exchange links

Exchanging links is one of the best method for getting web site traffic and ranking higher with search engine When you start a site you should exchange many as possable links with sites that are RELATED to YOUR site. Search Engine’s robots are eager to find new links and fresh information.

4) Mailing List

Having a mailing list can bring wonders to a web site, not only will it help bring old visitors back , but they will send the newsletter to their friends (If they like it). This is like gold for you. The only real purpose for a consumer website is to capture leads and to sell products. By leads I mean e-mail addresses.

You want to build up a customer list and then you want to work it repeatedly. Send out a monthly e-zine that offers FREE valuable information and mentions similar products they may be interested in. They may see something that a friend of theirs will want to buy from you.

5. Search Engine Optimization

It is no secret that search engines are the number one traffic generating method for driving visitors to web sites. Search engines are very useful in helping people find the relevant information they seek on the Internet. The major search engines develop and maintain their own gigantic database of web sites that can be searched by a user typing in a keyword or keyword phrase in the search box.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of studying the search engines in an effort to determine how to get your web site to rank high on user searches. Depending on the statistical information reviewed, search engines account for over 80% of the visitor traffic to web sites.

6. Banner Advertising

Although many marketers already know about the pay-per-click search engines, very few are purchasing guaranteed banner click-thru’s that are available on hundred’s of sites.

Look for sites that cater to your target market and look for, or ask for, their advertising rates. Slowly but surely most of the sites that sold banner impressions are starting to offer performance advertising in the form of pay-per-click.

7. Free online forum.

The forum can be on any topic that they are most interested in. One forum can be about “Online Business”. Another forum can be about “ Joint Ventures”. When people join those forums, make sure that they need to come to your site first and log in from there, if they want to log on and post on the forum.

A joint venture is when two or more businesses join together to work on a project for a set period of time. Doing online joint ventures can increase your chances of beating your competition, increasing your sales and profits, saving time and money, getting valuable referrals, and increasing your market share.

The following are ten online joint venture ideas:

1. A simple joint venture would be exchanging text links or banners with other related web sites.

2. Share a web site with another business with the same target market. You both will be marketing and advertising the same web site which means double the traffic.

3. Exchange testimonials or endorsements for each others products or services.

4. Combine your products or services together with another businesses into one big package. You could split the profits.

5. Do you have and product or service that doesn’t sell good? Offer it as a free bonus for another businesses product or service. In exchange ask for a small portion of the profits.

6. Offer to insert a promotional ad for another business into your product package. Just ask them in return to do the same for your business.

7. Trade ezine or auto-responder ads with similar businesses.

8. Team up with related businesses to create an promotional e-book to give away. Publish your web site ads in the e-book then just give it away for free.

9. Host a virtual trade show or seminar with another business. Include each other’s promotional material on the web site.

10. Create a freeware program with another business. Include a promotional ad for each of your businesses in the program. Submit it to freeware and freebie sites.

No one can logically argue against the fact that content is king. Web sites that are nothing more than glorified link farms or ad spiels must work harder and invest more money to gain visitors—almost none of them return. To keep users returning, there must be a reason. Articles can serve two major roles in maintaining a successful website—content and promotion. Just minutes from now you could be on your way to building a more successful business. Article creation and submission is one of the greatest promotional tools ever.

CONTENT

Every web site that wants to succeed at competing for eyeballs must have solid content to offer. Otherwise, the visitor is off in mere seconds—never to return. Make the visitor glad they visited and you have potentially created a loyal user.

Think about some of the more popular web sites on the Internet. Why would you visit them? Why would you return? Let’s look at a popular news site, FoxNews.com. I visit Fox News to read the latest news stories. I go back because I know there will be fresh articles waiting for me. I visit my favorite writing web site because I know there are great articles there and new ones appear often.

Do you see a theme? I am not going to a web site that is about other web sites or is a link farm—I am going to the source of what I desire. These sources not only receive my attention but have a good chance at selling me something. Over time, my trust in these web sites increases and I am more open to what they have to offer. It is important to offer quality content to hook the visitors in and update often to give them reasons to return. Your web site is an extension of you and your company. How visitors perceive your web site is how they will perceive you. This is why it is important that articles be well written. Anything less will compromise your perceived image.

PROMOTION

There is no easier way to establish links and incoming traffic to your web site than writing articles—or having someone write them for you. It could take months or longer for a web site owner to gain a significant amount of relevant links on other web sites. However, it can take days, with no effort, to accomplish the same feat with one well crafted article. The process is extremely simple.

Write the article or have it written for you.

Submit the article to article distribution services.

Start working on the next article or have a writer do it for you.

Once your article is out there it will work itself onto web sites across the Internet, which will end up generating incoming links for your web site. Moreover, this will increase your link popularity, which is very important for great search engine rankings. It would be wise to write articles that pertain in some way to your own web site. The odds of people, who are reading an article on engine rebuilding, being interested in your web site about quilting is rather slim. There are many article submission web sites and groups on the Internet. Some good article submission web sites are: articlefactory.com, ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, and ideamarketers.com. Don’t forget to use the article on your own web site.

The promotion world is waking up to this article creation technique and in time the competition will be fierce. The time to get started is right now. One well crafted article can easily be worth thousands of dollars in promotional efforts. Don’t let not being able to write great articles keep you from getting ahead—visit PromotionalArticles.com to have articles written for you. You simply can not put a price on the possible results from article distribution. Just wait until you experience it for yourself.
